Electronic Health Record (EHR) - Trainer/Educator - EPIC

Job Description

SUMMARY:

 

Under the supervision of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Administrator, the EHR Trainer/Educator is responsible for providing onsite support and training for providers and users of the organization’s Electronic Health Records system. Incumbent interacts with all levels of practice personnel, in particular with users in assigned client department(s), and with vendors.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Acts as the key technical liaison between EHR software users and vendors.
  • Provides training and support to client users on EPIC (and other applicable Vendors as designated).
  • Acts as a liaison between systems users and EHR Administrator.
  • Analyzes and documents problem(s) with EHR software, and in coordination with the EHR Administrator, recommends solution(s), initiates corrective action(s), follows up on problem resolution, and informs clients of status.
  • Remains knowledgeable of operations and the computer systems within the practice to provide comprehensive support.
  • Assists EHR Administrator to prepare lesson plans, workbooks, and future educational materials.
  • Provide onsite support for clinic Lunch and Learns and additionally requested training as well as one on one sessions when needed.
  • Will have a regular presence within the clinics for additional rounding.
  • Will hold monthly Super User sessions to provide additional training to first line users within the clinic.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate’s degree or License in healthcare related field preferred, plus 2 years clinical experience. Must have experience in Medical Information Systems Support and Training.  Previous experience with EPIC products preferred.
