Population Health Data Analyst
Job Description
SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Director of Population Health, the Data Analyst is responsible for collecting and analyzing data in a health care environment and facilitating delivery to government and private entities, as well as providing data analysis and reporting for internal requests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop reports based upon corporation reporting requirements utilizing Epic reporting tools, including Epic Reporting Workbench (RWB) and SlicerDicer
- Create data visualizations to support corporation decision-making
- Validate reports and outputs to ensure accuracy and performance
- Identify and resolve reporting and performance issues
- Ensure reporting compliance with data governance and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, IRB, etc.).
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to complete corporation reporting requirements
- Analyze and interpret data using standard statistical tools and techniques
- Strong math, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Work with employees from diverse backgrounds and educational levels
- Ability to learn new concepts quickly with little supervision
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Information Systems, or a related field, or an Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a Healthcare-related field, plus 2 – 4 years of experience in data analytics. 2 – 4 years of experience with Epic systems and Epic reporting tools, including Reporting Workbench and SlicerDicer preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft products, including SQL, Access and Excel, along with other data visualization tools. Familiarity with population health, quality metrics, and/or quality improvement processes preferred. Knowledge of regulatory reporting guidelines preferred (e.g., CMS, HEDIS). Previous experience in a healthcare or healthcare IT department preferred. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Working knowledge of computers, keyboards, printers. Ability to operate the phone system. Skill in composition, compiling and preparing a variety of correspondence, documentation, reports, and other materials. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with faculty members, students, residents, staff, patients and other third parties. Ability to concentrate under high demands and listen effectively. Ability to organize tasks, work as a team member and/or independently using good judgement with a variety of professional disciplines. Must convey a professional and positive image and attitude.
